The NeatClose

The NeatClose system is the first fully automated port closure device for laparoscopic surgery. Combining safety, ease of use and significantly reduced port closure time.

Port Closure with No Exposed Needle

With no exposed needle inside the operating cavity, NeatClose offers protected means of consitent, airtight fascial closure, potentially avoiding port site herniations.

One of the major potential problems with the use of 10-12 mm ports is the risk of port site herniation. This problem can present as early postoperative bowel obstruction or as a late cosmetic defect. While fascial closure should prevent herniation, direct visualization of the fascia in an obese individual can be very technically challenging and time consuming and therefore very expensive. In addition, sub-optimal visualization can potentially lead to morbidity from an unrecognized injury during suturing. NeatClose reduces these risks with its innovative, yet simple closure system.

Quick Closure Saves Time and Money

The NeatClose produces an airtight seal in less than 20 seconds, which can lead to significant time savings in the operating room and result in substantial savings for the hospital.

By reducing the risk of surgical complications, surgeons can also reduce the need for follow-on surgery and the substantial associated costs.

Increase Patient Satisfaction

By closing the ports in a controlled and less traumatic fashion, NeatClose potentially offers less post-operative pain and improved cosmesis for the patient.
